Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 15, 2025

At UltraPoint Terminal, we take your privacy seriously. This isn't just another legal document—it's our commitment to handling your information with the respect it deserves.

We built this platform for investment professionals operating in Vietnam's financial markets, and we know that trust forms the foundation of everything we do. So let's be straight about what we collect, why we need it, and how we protect it.

Information We Collect

Registration & Account Data

When you create an account, we ask for basic professional information. Full name, email address, company affiliation, job title, and phone number. We need this to verify you're actually a financial professional and not someone looking to scrape our proprietary data.

For users in Vietnam, we also collect your business registration number to comply with State Securities Commission regulations. This helps us maintain the integrity of our platform and ensures everyone accessing our analysis tools has legitimate credentials.

Usage Information

We track how you use our terminal. Which stocks you research most often, what analysis tools you prefer, how long you spend on different sections. This data helps us improve our interface and develop features that actually matter to working analysts.

  • Search queries and watchlist preferences
  • Reports downloaded and charts generated
  • Time spent analyzing specific securities
  • Custom alert configurations
  • Session duration and access patterns

Technical Data

Standard web stuff—IP addresses, browser type, device information, operating system. We log this automatically through our servers and it helps us troubleshoot technical issues when they come up.

How We Use Your Information

Here's the thing—we're not selling your data to advertisers or building marketing profiles. Our business model is straightforward: you pay for access to professional-grade financial analysis tools. That's it.

Primary Uses: We use your information to provide the service you signed up for. Account management, platform access, technical support, and service improvements. When you email us about a bug, we need to know who you are and what subscription tier you're on.

We analyze usage patterns in aggregate to understand which features get used most and which ones need work. If we notice that 80% of users never touch a particular analysis module, that tells us something worth knowing.

For compliance purposes, we maintain audit logs as required by Vietnam's cybersecurity law (Decree 53/2022/ND-CP). This means keeping records of platform access and data exports for regulatory review if needed.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share your information in very limited circumstances, and we're particular about who we work with.

Service Providers

Our infrastructure runs on cloud servers, we use third-party payment processors, and we work with specialized data vendors for market information. These partners get access to whatever data they need to do their job—nothing more.

Payment processing is handled through licensed providers compliant with international standards. We never see or store your full credit card details. That's their job, and they're better at it than we'd be.

Legal Requirements

If Vietnamese authorities issue a lawful request for user data, we'll comply. This could happen during investigations into securities violations or other financial crimes. We won't fight legitimate legal orders, but we also won't hand over information without proper documentation.

What We Don't Do

We don't sell your data to brokers, marketing firms, or anyone else. We don't share your investment research patterns with third parties for advertising purposes. Your watchlists and analysis preferences stay confidential.

Data Security Measures

Security is complicated, but here's what matters: we use industry-standard encryption, maintain secure servers in certified data centers, and regularly test our systems for vulnerabilities.

Security Layer Implementation
Data Transmission TLS 1.3 encryption for all connections
Data Storage AES-256 encryption at rest
Authentication Multi-factor authentication available
Access Control Role-based permissions system
Monitoring 24/7 intrusion detection systems

That said, no system is perfectly secure. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at help@ultrapointterminal.com and change your password.

Your Privacy Rights

Vietnamese law gives you certain rights over your personal data, and we've built tools to make exercising these rights straightforward.

Access Your Data

Request a complete export of everything we have on file about you. We'll deliver it within 15 business days in standard formats.

Correct Information

Update inaccurate account details through your profile settings. For corrections requiring verification, contact our support team.

Delete Your Account

Close your account and request data deletion. Note that we may retain certain records for compliance purposes as required by law.

Restrict Processing

Limit how we use your information in specific circumstances. This might affect your ability to use certain platform features.

Data Portability

Take your data to another service. We'll provide your information in machine-readable formats where technically feasible.

Withdraw Consent

Opt out of optional data collection activities. This won't affect data processing based on legal obligations or contract performance.

To exercise any of these rights, email help@ultrapointterminal.com with your request. We'll verify your identity and respond within the timeframes required by Vietnamese law—typically 30 days for most requests.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account remains active, plus an additional period afterward to meet legal requirements.

Active account data stays on our systems indefinitely while you maintain a subscription. After you cancel, we retain core account information for seven years as required by Vietnam's accounting and financial regulations.

Usage logs and technical data get deleted after three years unless needed for ongoing security investigations. Marketing communications preferences are kept until you unsubscribe or your account closes.

If you request account deletion, we'll remove personal identifiers but may retain anonymized data for statistical analysis and service improvement.

Cookies & Tracking

Our platform uses cookies to maintain your session and remember your preferences. We're not doing anything sneaky here—just standard functionality that makes the terminal work properly.

Essential cookies keep you logged in and maintain your workspace configuration. Analytics cookies help us understand which features get used most and where users encounter problems.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will break core platform functionality. If you're concerned about tracking, focus on blocking third-party cookies while allowing first-party cookies from our domain.

International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in Singapore and use backup facilities in Japan. This means your data leaves Vietnam, but we've taken steps to ensure it receives adequate protection.

We use standard contractual clauses approved by Vietnamese authorities for international data transfers. Our hosting providers maintain ISO 27001 certification and comply with international data protection standards.

For users particularly concerned about data localization, understand that keeping data exclusively within Vietnam would significantly increase costs and reduce reliability. We've balanced security, performance, and compliance requirements based on what actually works in practice.

Compliance with Vietnam Law

We operate under Vietnam's legal framework, which means complying with several relevant regulations beyond just privacy law.

The Law on Cybersecurity (2018) and its implementing decrees require us to maintain certain data locally and cooperate with authorities. We keep user authentication logs and access records on servers within Vietnam for this purpose.

As a financial information service, we also follow State Securities Commission guidelines about data handling and client confidentiality. This includes maintaining records of who accesses what information and when.

Our business registration and contact details are on file with Ho Chi Minh City authorities, and we maintain proper licensing for operating a financial information platform.

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this policy when our practices change or when new legal requirements emerge. Significant changes will be announced via email and through platform notifications.

Minor updates—like adding new service providers or clarifying existing practices—might not warrant individual notifications. Check the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page to see when we made the most recent changes.

Continued use of our platform after policy updates means you accept the revised terms. If you disagree with major changes, you can close your account before they take effect.
